How to open for walk-ins with “I’m here”

Being inside your business hours is not enough. Your storefront says you’re taking walk-ins only after a person who serves customers taps I’m here. That way customers never drive over to a locked door.

Open walk-ins

  1. Sign in and open My Day.
  2. In My availability, tap I’m here.

Walk-ins open, and your storefront shows that you’re taking check-ins. Until someone does this, the line shows Walk-ins not started.

During the day

After I’m here, the same panel lets you set yourself to:

  • Available: ready for the next customer.
  • Break: stepping away for a bit.
  • Unavailable: here, but not taking customers.
  • Check out: leaving for the day.

This shows whether you can take customers right now. It isn’t a payroll time clock.

When it ends

You don’t have to remember to check out. I’m here ends by itself when that day’s walk-in hours end. A break between two shifts on the same day doesn’t end it.

Rules that keep it honest

  • Only you can say you’re here. An owner or manager can’t mark someone else present. They can put someone on break, set them unavailable, or check them out.
  • Owners too. An owner opens walk-ins only if they also serve customers. If nobody here serves customers yet, the line shows Invite or add a provider.
  • A pause stays a pause. If someone tapped Pause on the line, a new I’m here doesn’t undo it. Tap Resume to take check-ins again.
