How to verify you own your business

Verifying proves you’re allowed to run this business on Walk-Ins Welcome. You can publish first and verify after, but some things wait for it:

  • A claimed Google listing may stay hidden until you verify. The screen says Your page isn’t live yet when that’s the case. Customers can’t see it or check in until you verify.
  • Bolt-Ons marked Verification required, such as Healthcare, stay off until you verify. Free Core stays free either way, and buying a Bolt-On never verifies you.

Verify with a code

  1. Open Verify your storefront.
  2. Tick the box that says you’re authorized to represent the business at this location.
  3. Get a code one of three ways: tap Text a code to the listed business phone, tap Call the listed phone and read me a code (both go to the number on your business listing), or tap Email a verification code to get it at an email address on your business website’s own domain, for example you@yourbusiness.com.
  4. Type the code under Verification code and tap Confirm contact code. The code expires after a few minutes, so use it right away.

If you can’t get a code

Tap Need another way to verify?, explain under Review details how you’re connected to the business, with something public that shows it (no passwords, IDs or private documents), and tap Submit review request. Your storefront stays unverified until the review is done.

“This location already has a storefront”

Someone has already claimed this location. You can tap Request access if you work with them, or Dispute this claim with public evidence that you run the business. Neither one gives anyone access to customer records or payments.
